What is STARsystemTM ?

How do I enrol in STARsystemTM ?

Begin by purchasing an iBGStarTM or BGStar TM meter. Then return to this website, enter your meter’s serial number and you’re on your way.

  • iBGStarTM can be purchased online and in select pharmacies.
  • BGStarTM is available at most pharmacies with the purchase of 100 BGStarTM test strips .

Where is the serial number located on my meter?

You’ll find it on the back of your device. It’s a code that is 14 characters long.

How do I log in to STARsystemTM ?

Click on Sign inat the top right section of the page and enter your email and password.

Note: You must first purchase an iBGStarTM or BGStarTM meter and enter its serial number to enrol. Then you can log in

I forgot my password. What can I do?

Just enter your email address and we’ll send you a link to reset your password.

How do I delete my STARsystemTM account?

You can delete your account on Your Account page. Once you delete your account you will no longer be a member of STARsystemTMor be able to access any of its services. Any vouchers you have will also be deleted along with the deletion of all of your personal information. Should you wish to re-join the STARsystemTMcommunity, you will have to reenrol.

Why should I complete my Profile Questionnaire?

The best way to experience STARsystemTMis to personalize it to respond to your own interests and needs. By completing the short Profile Questionnaire, you tell us what content is most relevant and beneficial to you. This in turn will make managing your diabetes that much more effective.

What is My Profile and why is it so important?

My Profile is created from your answers on your questionnaire. It tells us a bit about you, your interests and level of diabetes knowledge. The more information you provide us with, the more accurate your profile will be . Your profile is important in that it personalizes your STARsystemTM experience, bringing you information that’s most relevant to you and filtering out content which isn’t.

What is Know More and how do I use it?

The “Know More” section is located in the Learn section of the website. It’s where you’ll find articles, videos and more – all personalized for you – on the five key aspects of diabetes management: monitoring, managing, eating, moving and feeling. Simply select a category and the content you wish to learn more about, and you’re on your way!

Why are there different knowledge levels in Know More?

The Knowledge levels help you track and build your knowledge within a category. As you progress through content within a category, stars are awarded to indicate your increased level of knowledge. Once you achieve three stars, you earn a ‘Completed’ badge and progress to the next level. There are three knowledge levels in each .

How can I share my profile or health plan with my Health Care Professional?

Simply print these documents directly from the website. Sending your profile or health plan via email will be available soon.

Why is my health professional not in the available list of resources? I want to add this contact to My Address Book.

Quite simply, we are in the process of building a comprehensive resource centre. The health professionals that are part of the resource section for STARsystemTMis only the start. You can input your own resource in “My Address Book”. You can add a person, an institution or even a web address.

What is health coaching and how does it work?

Your membership in STARsystemTMprovides you with access to a trained health coach via Health Interaction TM.


Health coaching is done by a healthcare professional whose role is not to educate or prescribe treatment, but rather to listen to you and understand what is important to you and help you make lifestyle changes to improve your quality of life.


In your phone sessions, your health coach will guide you in developing achievable goals and help you create an action plan. Your health coach will provide you with on-going support when you need it.


What you do with your health coach depends on you. For instance, you could discuss what you feel your health challenges are, what you choose to focus on and how ready you are to make changes.


As a member of STARsystem TM, you’ll benefit from the valuable input of a health coach so you can do what you feel is important and possible to improve your health.

How many health coaching phone sessions can I have?

You’ll get up to ninety minutes of phone sessions and six months of unlimited online support with your health coach when you redeem your voucher via Health Interaction™.

How do I redeem my free health coaching phone sessions?

As a member of STARsystem TM you will receive an e-mail from Confirmation.starsystem@sanofi.ca containing your voucher numbers which you will use to book a health coaching phone session. To receive your free health coaching sessions by phone and unlimited on-line support for a period of 6 months, you must first register on our partner program, Health Interactiontion TM, it’s simple, just click www.healthinteraction.ca.

What is the voucher for Health Interaction TM and how do I get them?

Once you enrol in STARsystem TM, you will receive vouchers by e-mail from Confirmation.starsystem@sanofi.ca. These vouchers will give you access up to 90 minutes of phone sessions and unlimited online support with your health coach for a period of 6 months via Health Interaction TM

How can I reach my health coach?

Health coaching is done by a healthcare professional whose role is not to educate or prescribe treatment, but rather to listen to you and understand what is important to you and help you make lifestyle changes to improve your quality of life.

How do I build my health plan?

Simply sign-up on Health Interaction TM and book a session with your health coach with vouchers received by e-mail from Confirmation.starsystem@sanofi.ca . Your health coach will help you set specific goals and discuss options to best achieve them.

What’s next once I reach my goals?

Once you’ve reached your health and lifestyle goals, you can speak with your health coach about setting new goals and adjusting your plan.

How can I share my profile or health plan with my Health Professional?

Simply print these documents that you will receive from your health coach by email.
